In my 1978 Corvette?  Either there is not one in the car, or it is so well hidden I can't find it.  Thing is, I can't find a place it would go, either.  No obvious brackets, no hidden compartments.  (Unless they are REALLY hidden!)

The rear compartment behind the passenger seat. Pull out the black cardboard liner and there it be, or should be if it's still with the car.
Some of them C1 and C2 guys will pay $500.00 just to get the correct jack for their cars. You got the whole car so if the jack is there it's a bonus.

Yup...passenger side rear compartment...pull the cardboard(or plastic on some) bin out, and the jack should be under there, tied down with a spring with hooks on the ends. The jack handle should also be there.
Word of caution here...the factory jacks were flimsy when new...they're really questionable now that most are 30 years old or older...be very careful if you have to use it. If it folds over while you have the car up, it could ruin yer day at best, and hert ya really bad worst case.

I thought that I was missing my jack all this time.  It was under the plastic rear compartment.  Mine looks to be relatively sturdy for a scissor jack.  Never liked them anyway.  Did the make better ones later?

The jack is handy if you have a flat with no service near by.
I have never used the jack, but I'll keep it.
The spare tire is original, so I hope I never need to use it.
That's why I have AAA.

Where is it located anyway under the hood?  Sick

In CA we have good roads and no one ever needs a spare anyway!  Clown

I have AAA therefore have no need to know.  It keeps my head free of unnecessary information.  OK Ebo say something I know you want too.Thumbs Up

A lil advise to those who have finally found the jack that has been stashed away for 30 years. Be sure to take it out and lube it once and a while. When I needed mine (long story) I took it out and it was so rusted up I couldn't break the threads loose. Brian ( redwing) was with me, so we took his out of his 73. With both of us holding and twisting it finally broke loose. Just a lil PM once and a while helps.

I will add this though...our cars have very little extra room, I have a few tools wrapped in some shop towels down in that area. Also a spare Alt belt, it's a great place for some emergency stuff.
