Another get together for the northeast area will be at the Northeast Rod & Custom show on March 24th in Oaks, PA.

C3VR Member Agenda:

  • 10:00am: We'll meet at the spectator entrance in "Hall A" of the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center at 10am.  Once inside, I don't think it will make sense for us to stick together as an entire group. We'll probably want to tour at our own pace.  So we can regroup at lunch.  Admission is $15 for adults, $5 ages 6-12, Free under 6. Military get $5 discount with military ID. All other can get a $2 discount with this coupon!
  • 12:30pm: We can meet as a group at Max & Erma's restaurant (which is in the same complex as the conference center, but you'll still likely want to drive over there) for lunch.
  • After Lunch (maybe 2pm): In true C3VR get-together fashion, there is a go-kart track, Arnold's Family Fun Center, right next door to the conference center.  Depending on which cart you choose, it will cost between $9 and $15 per race.
  • After Go-Karts: for those of you that want to go back into the show, you can do so without a charge to re-enter.  The show is open until 11pm.

RSVP:
  • Please reply to this thread to let us know if you are attending, and if you will be meeting us at 10 am for arrival, at 12:30pm for lunch and/or for Go-Karts after.  Tell us how many people you'll have for each part.
  • Please RSVP by 3/22 so reservations can be made!

Hope to see you there!

Attending:
Adam Wartell (Adam & Nate) - Maybe show, Definitely Lunch & Karts
danascar (Dan) - Show, Lunch, Maybe Karts
Jaws79 (Barry & Jackie) - Show, Lunch & Karts
Hank and Caroline - show, lunch, and possibly karting
frobate (Jeff) - show, lunch, karts
Bobbi's78 (Barb & Frank) - show, lunch & karts

That sounds good to me, Adam....if there are any arrangements that need to be made for the dinner, if you don't mind, I would like to hand that off to you.

Is everyone planning to get there at 10am?

What time do you think we should meet for lunch.  I'm sure I could be through the show in 2 hours, but I don't know if everyone else will feel the same way.

Thoughts?

10 AM is OK with me. I've never been to the show so can't say how long it would take to go thru. I would say 12:30 would be a good time.
They have $2 off admission coupons on that web site that Dan put up. Make sure you all get one.

It is still on!

I'm trying to verify that readmission is possible. That way we can meet at 10am, have lunch at 12:30, then if anyone wants to go back in, they can.  As soon as I hear back from them, I'll post more details and send out an email to push for more C3VRs to attend.

I will be doing lunch for sure and depending on how much there is to see in the show I'll do the carts, but only if I don't need that time to see the cars.

If you do the go-karts, and let's say we're done at 4pm.  You'll still have another 7 hours to see the rest of the car show (they close at 11pm).

Do you NEED to know how many will do the karts? I'd rather see how things shake out before making a committal. I'm leaning towards it, but if nobody else is going to do it I won't either. Done it in the past at several places and it is fun Wacko

Well, we had a small turnout, but it was fun nonetheless!
The car show was quite a spectacle.
This one was my favorite.

Lunch was nice.

And go-karts (especially the upgrade to Pro), was a lot of fun!

Thanks to those that came out!

Sorry we missed a few that were supposed to come but didn't make it.

Sorry Jeff and Robin(?) had to leave before Karts!

I echo Adam, it was a blast! The car show was huge and took Hank and I forever to grt through! (we have to go over each car and we talked to a lot of the owners). You really see the difference in the go-karts when you drive the regular ones first, then the pro karts! Lunch was great and it was nice to meet another member, Jeff and Robin (Frobate). Now if we can get him to come to some events! And its always nice to see Barb and Frank! Get well wishes for Dan (danascar), hope you feel better!

My sentiments exactly Thumbs Up - Although there weren't many of us, we had a great time (Thanks to Dan's planning!).  Dan - I hope you are feeling better, so sorry you couldn't make it - you were definitely missed, as well were Dave & Nadine.

Sounds like you guys had fun. Sorry we didn't make it. It's always fun to get together with C3VR people. Maybe we can get together again before May, if not we'll see you then!

Feeling somewhat better today. I have to say a good part of the credit for this get together goes to Adam. He researched the lunch and karts.
Wish I could have been there Exclamation
Sure would like to get together again before Gathering but time will be tight for me until then. Lots of work to do on the car plus a couple of short trips. If anything comes up close and quick I may be game but otherwise...work, work, work Ermm

Yeah, Dan, it's just so tough being retired and having to go on all those fishing trips and having to work on the Vette! I'm so jealous!   LOL

Thank you Dan and Adam for putting this together, and big thank you to all who attended the lunch. It was great putting faces to names and I really enjoyed hearing the tales of C3 adventures and mis-adventures. I wish I would have been able to race the carts, I have heard that the pro model is a blast.

Anyway, I took Robin back home so she could get ready for work and I changed my clothes and tore into the vette. I was on a mission so right now, the transmission is out, hopefully gonna pull the engine this week. Prepped it to pull, everything is out but the power steering pump and motor mount bolts. Can't wait to pressure wash the skank off the compartment and tune that area up.

I wanna get her on the road and be able to attend more of the C3VR events.

And we want you there to help boost our representation at area shows! We want people to expect a big C3VR turnout!
