I have my 1969 el camino for sale that I have owned for 3 years.  I'm selling her for $6,000 BUT I HAVE MORE THAN THAT INVESTED IN IT. I need the money for parts for my new baby a 1976 corvette!
The El Camino is a unique ride as it's painted in 1970 Mopar Plumb Crazy Purple. Many people turn their heads when I drive it around Everett in the spring time.
See the pics via this link.
If you are interested please contact me on this site.
Thanks

Cry Son of a B*%$# man why am I just seeing this post.  I would have bought that on the spot Carl.  I'm looking for a college graduation present for my son and he loves El Camino's.  Don't know how happy he would have been with a Plum Crazy car but who cares.  Oh well, revert to plan B, he gets my 2002 Hyundai. cilrah2007-07-12 18:09:44

Well Scott, I bought a new GM ZZ4 350/ 355 hp long block and added a new 750 Holy and High performace water and fule pump to it. I'm going to pull the original motor this Sunday and put the tranny and radiator in the shop for reconditioning. Since the new motor putts out close to twice the HP as the old motor and 405 pounds of torque at 3200 rpms I think it's best to beef up the 350 turbo tranny while it out as well. I just got the new torgue thruster II wheels and goodrich tires on her so she really looks nice! Now with the new engine and rebuilt tranny I believe I will really have a nice ride when it's all done. I will post new pics in SeptemberSmile

Outstanding choice Carl. That's the exact package I am considering for my 75, if I don't have the original engine rebuilt. Of course I will keep all of the stock stuff if I go with the crate engine. I want to here about the installation, if it is fairly straight forward or if any modifications are required. Please remember to document as much as possible. That will really help the rest of us out when we are ready to tackle this project. Thanks of the update.

That sure was a nice El Camino Carl! I have always thought they were very kewl. My cousin had one that he used to trailer out Moto X bikes with. It was a bitchin sight as a total package!

Good Luck with the new ZZ4 . Let us know how it's goin as you move along...

Well I finally removed the old motor and tranny last night. It worked out well after I found a few items still attached and unhooked them (power steering hoses, ground wires and one of the tranny cooling lines I missed).
I had to remove the engine from the passenger side with the wheel removed in order to position the hoist leggs around the jack stands. Also I discovered that the passenger side engine mount bolt couldn't be removed without first removing the fuel pump. I found that with the right front wheel removed that there is a hole in the fender skirt that will allow a socket with extention to align with the fuel pump bolts to remove the pump!Wink I hope these little hints will help someone in the future.  Also removing all the schields is a must and I won't be putting them back on the new engine.
Now I will take the radiator, tranny and tranny cooling unit to the shop for rebuild while I start the cleaning of the engine bay.Dead
