Hello?  I'm waiting to viacariously live through all of you folks that could make it down there this weekend.  What's going on?  How was the plant tour?  Did any of you drive a car home from the factory?LOL

Are ya havin' fun?  I thought about you this morning when I saw storms closing in on BG on radar.

I'd ask if ya'll are behavin' yourselves, but then I looked at the attendee list - Micki, Butch, Tux, etc.  Heck, if ebo was there, the town would probably get burned down!!

Have fun and share the joy - let us know what's happnin'

Well being the co-editor of SharkBytes does have it's perks????

SRJ just called and gave me a BG update.

All had a great time on the tours yesterday, weather has been good just a bit of rain. Last night a group of 25 went out to dinner. If you have never drove in a large group of corvettes especially C3's and watched heads turn it's a way cool feeling. So I'm sure when the resturant lot was full of C3's it was neat.

They also went to the "Jamhouse" I'm happy bout thatTongue yum yum.
They were at breakfast when they called, I talked to Dave Wright and he is having car problems, may be fuel so they are going to install a fuel pump today (Adam must have rubbed up against him)
Redwing Brian chatted for a bit and told me our beloved Queen was checking on how the AC is spose to work in a C3 Brian had her get in his RED C3 and turn the blower on high then he took her for a little spin......well the spin turned into a real Hot Spin as Brian did a few doughnuts in the parking lot. Well this time instead of her pooch haveing the squirts from Tux's taterfries........Micki did........
Brian said he felt bad for Adam and stayed back in the booth with him most of the day, actually we asked Brian to keep a tight leash on himLOL we do not need a repeat of him laying out on someones hood again. (he's a 2 beer dateRolling On The Floor Laughing)
Guess I'll keep ya all posted.................
Everyone enjoy this Holiday! and be safe!

OK the crew just called in there are about 40 people sittin in the hotel parking lot having a cook out, and Terr, Marshal they lied there are still ribs on the bar be.

I talked to Bob Hamilton for a bit and he said to tell everyone that the food is great and there's a bunch of vettes.

I also got to talk to the Queen, Micki called her husban and said she wants the new Grand Sport she seen being built. "Honey I'm Home and I brought back somethin nice"
Oh baby!
She had brought a remote control fart cushion with her and was about to plant it under some one. Yep she's a keeper!

Bob and I decided that Adam has to put together some kind of cruise that we can all get together at......Like a Cruise to Virgin Islands (yeah on a boat) in the winter timeThumbs Up

Ok last update for the night.
Adam did not have to go for a ride in the meat wagon yet tonight. He ate at SRJ's BBQ trailer.
The group is now at the Go cart track and Spielman is about to lap the field. He was heard screaming  "my finger is stuck on the governor get out of the waaayyyyyy!!!!!"
Dave Wright is still having car troubles even after changing out the fuel pump. I know he has a crossfire if anyone has any sugestions??
I'd hate to see him drive home on the go cart he's doin burns on right now.

I'm sure I'll have more updates tomorrow............Evil Smileebo

Last night's cookout was a blast. Jim said at least 4 new members were there........lets hope they wer'nt scared offShocked

I talked to Mike (great Pumpkin, I love that car) Micki's fart cushion was so loud some people who did not know thought it was a "Jake Brake" from the highway.

Another wonderful time...sure good to see everyone again, and meet some new folks and faces as well.  Sorry I had to leave so early, but porch-sitting and catching up with relatives in Central City kinda had to happen, you know??  Sure turned a few heads on the back roads of Kentucky...it's kinda fun waving to folks you don't even know...it's a way of life in these parts...gotta love it!!  Tops off all weekend...time to scrape the bugs off and get ready for Funfest!!

I hope Dave's crossfire woes get straightened out...."engine management" was a whole different ballgame in '82 compared to what it is today...hopefully Dave and Gordon Killebrew can get things worked out...I think he was going to talk with him either yesterday or today..

I got home about 2am this morning. Boy did I have a great time with the gang. I hit one rain storm just as I left about 40 miles north of the museum that had cars and trucks in ditches and slowed the rest of us down to 25mph for about 3 miles but after that it was clear sailing. I sure wish I could have stayed another day but things to do at home and it sure is nice sleeping in my own bed. The museum sure has changed with the new addition and it was great seeing all the folks that did make it in.

Marion and I were working the booth and a fellow from the Neitherlands stopped by. He was working as a volunteer for the weekend. He showed us some pics of his collection of 150 Corvettes that He owns. That’s right, 150. Not toys, the real thing. He told me he got hooked on Vettes when he was 11 years old and he saw a Mako Shark. That’s all it took.

Great stories always come out when you talk about Vettes.

Here are some pics for you to enjoy.

We did catch up to Jim and Pat and had a quick visit.  He said overall turnout was not as high as the museum had hoped for but that a great time was had by all (well, maybe not Adam or Dave Wright) and that the expanded museum was certainly a sight to see.

Just gives me another reason to get down there for a visit!

Good to see you Jim and Pat!!

Well SRJ called last night, after getting some rest. Pretty much said the same thing Marshal.  He had talked to quite a few that had made it home already. He said Dave Wright checked in from his daughter house that was about 100 miles from his home. Car was not giving him to many fits. Micki ran in to a bit of a kinker, a Texas State Trooper got a good look at her.......pulled her over and made her take her bra off Shocked something about blocking the viewConfused

Then Jim asked to talk at the SharkBytes senior editor, there was a lot of laughter goin on, man that is why I can not watch a football game.......see I know that when those guys get in a huddle they are talkin bout me!!!!LOL
Brian put up some nice pictures, thanks bud.
Enjoy this Labor day folks!

I got home last night about 9:00 PM and just crashed.
The Vette ran great. No hesitation, stalling or starting problems.
Did the new feul pump and strainer cure the problem??? Don't know.
Gordon Killibrew suggested the relay by the neutral safety switch or the oil pressure switch.
But I now have a problem with the A/C comperssor. Making bad noises when the clutch engages.
That's enough about me. Back to the 09 Caravan.
I had a great time, inspite of the minor car problems and the few showers.
We had more C3VR members there than the '09 Gathering in Mystic, CT.
It was great to see old friends again. I wish I could go to Funfest in a couple of weeks and see many of them again.
I took lots of pictures and video, so I will post later.

I know that TUX will add a lot of techno color, but one item that I wanted to mention happened during the Friday Cookout.  The Mayor of Cave City stopped by to say thanks for supporting the Cave City economy.  I bet C3VR is the only group that got such top political recognition. Great Pumpkin got a good picture.  It was a great time........

Hi y'all,

Arrived back at "The Ranch" around 3:30 this afternoon.  Had a GREAT week...!!!

The caravan heading south was a lot of fun.  Several days with the C3VR bunch is ALWAYS entertaining...!!!  The "new" NCM is fantastic...!!!  The "WOW" factor from the freeway is unbelievable - and the changes inside are spectacular.  During our plant tour we got to hear a new ZR1 "come to life" for the first time (that was a treat!).  A word of caution - at the Dairy Barn if you plan to order the 'Hot Brownie Split' for desert order a half sandwich for lunch.

Sorry to miss saying 'So long for now' to most of the gang Saturday night/Sunday morning.  It was not intensional!

Nice to see Marshall and Candy (Candi?) on the road during our return trip - what a coincidence that was...!!!  (And yes - my first thought was "Who is that crazy person hanging out of the window of that green SUV...???")

to be continued...

okay, here's a few words about a couple of topics that haven't been touched on yet: this one's for
you, Marshall, I can't believe you didn't at least come Thursday morning for the lap around the Indy
500 speedway track! You cannot imagine what a thrill it was for both of us to drive on this track where so much history has been made and think of all the great names that had raced there. Tux and I were weaving up and down the track, warming up our tires while the caution flag was out, Tom (white 78) was driving up close to the wall while Marilyn was leaning out the window taking pictures (to be speeded up later). It takes my breath away just thinking about it. #2 item is about the trip home. The Steinke's, Hadler's, Hamilton's, Bogedains and Herold's caravaned to one of Tom
Herold's best kept secrets in Starlight, Indiana to the Huber Winery. We sat out all afternoon and drank wine, blackberry cider, ate cheese, french bread dipped in oil,and then ate supper at 5 o'clock with a little ice cream thrown in! They had an outside band, complete with singers, to entertain everyone. The road into and out of this place couldn't have been better corvette driving-at times I thought I was at the Tail of the Dragon! This place was absolutely gorgeous and we only saw a small part of it. And for you Mr Moore- I took care of your doggie bag! Nobody wanted them because they were sitting in a cooler for 2 days, but my cast iron stomach said to me, "I'll take the leftover ribs home! So for dinner tonight, I had ribs, fresh stringbeans, southwest salsa cheese from the winery and for dessert, blackberry pie with carmel Haagen-Dazs ice cream (can you smell it yet? I sure enjoyed eating it!! Can't wait till Effingham!! That's all folks! Butch

I had a great time this week. Hunter was successful with school instead of fun and I really appreciate everyone asking about him and sending their hello's and "missed seeing you" comments. He was very glad to hear this and looks forward to the west coast trip next year if the timing is right.

The Go- Karts were always a blast. Car #2 definitely had the advantage all night. All who had that car - Terry, me, Patty... lapped the field.

The pins and cards from the Mayor were our "Get out of Jail Free" card if needed.

The ride between cave City and NCM was a great opportunity for road testing. Triple digits were a reality (again).

The BBQ was outstanding. Thanks Jim for the efforts, the food and the cooking. the C3VR comraderie was outstanding and itwas great to see everyone again. Having everyone in Cave City was a great move. My guys from SC overpaid in BG and were not happy with their accomodations.

NCM was a blast. The expansion and the new cars in the museum were very cool - manta ray, mako shark, and the 1963 Grand Sport reproduction for example. Transformer unveining was crazy due to the number of people trying to get a picture. Got some good shots of that. Cars on the Dyno were impressive. The race vettes were impressive also.

Concert by 1964 (Beatles clones) was actually pretty good. They looked and sounded like the real deal.

C3VR tent was always a happening place. I signed up several for all registries including a dude from Australia.

Laps at Lowe's Motor Speedway was also a highlight. Over 130 cars from the SC,NC,VA caravan participated. Triple digits is always entertaining.

Our caravan was visually impressive (over 5 miles long)  ... but slow. We were escorted by a bad ass vette Po Po once we entered Kentucky and then through Bowling Green and into the NCM.

Made it home in 6 hours and 8 minutes averaged 70 mph ... we were moving ...

Had a great time and looking forward to next year.

Hi everybody! We had a great time. Arrived home about 12:30 am. Tom and Marilyn took a small caravan to the Hubner winery in southern Indiana. What a wonderful place and the scenery is amazing. We just didn't want to leave. Only hit a small amount of rain near home.

Looking forward to Mid America see you all there!

Sounds priceless folks. Thanks for the pics Brian. And Dave W., we love to hear about those issues out on the road in detail. It helps prepare us for what to expect and how to resolve it. The last time I drove across the U.S. (4 times in 1970) was in a 65 Mustang with points style ign. and a Holly carb(easily diagnosed) never had a problem I couldn't deal with. please let us know if you find out more about what happened. aceinthehole2009-09-08 09:15:17

Good afternoon and greetings from Daytona Beach, FL.  My wife and I were able to meet several of the members of this forum at the cook out on Friday night thanks to Brian for getting us involved with the group at the museum.  I have known Brian for a while on another forum and it was great being able to meet him as well as the other folks that we met at the cook out.  GREAT burgers and hot dogs. Our compliments to the chef!!!  Thanks again for the great evening and we look forward to chatting with you all here in the forum as well as the next time we all get to meet in person.
We have 2 1977 vettes as well as an 02.  I will have to figure ot how to get pictures on here.
Y'all have a great day now hear??  That's southern talk.
Marshall, I can't believe you didn't at least come Thursday morning for the lap around the Indy 500 speedway track! Can't wait till Effingham!! That's all folks! Butch
I had made a decision early on that we would not be going on the Caravan, but I did try to look at the threads.  I must have missed any that mentioned the trip around the track (or even a mention of a route through Indy).  If I had known, I would have made every effort to be there.  I did drive the car to work that day, so it was already out.

Ditto - looking forward to seeing everyone @ Funfest in less than two weeks!!
