DeLongs Donate 2nd Corvette
 On
May 27, with their Corvette family watching from all over the country
on the Museum's web cams, Delivery Team Member Doug Johnson dropped the
fob to a new 2014 Stingray into Dor DeLong's hand as her husband, Jack
DeLong, dropped the keys of their 1992 Corvette into Museum Executive
Director Wendell Strode's hands. The DeLongs decided to donate their
prized Corvette while taking R8C Museum Delivery of their new "C7."
"This
car is a special car to Dor and I," Jack said. "It was a gift that we
gave to ourselves when we reached a point in life where we could really
enjoy it. It was the first car we ever took to the Museum, and the first
car that we took back to its birthplace at the Assembly Plant. We put
many thousands of miles on this car going to countless NASCAR races,
club events and road tours, making memories every mile along the way."

Registration Open for Inaugural NCM HPDE at the new Motorsports Park
 Come
be part of NCM Motorsports Park history with the inaugural High
Performance Driving Events, September 26-27 or September 28-29!
Event Details
The event will have four student run
groups: beginners, low intermediate, high intermediate and advanced plus
an instructor group. Touring laps are available for those who do not
wish to participate in the complete HPDE school and/or for those with
convertibles (roll bars are not needed for touring laps.) Classroom
sessions will take place for HPDE, Touring, and PrimeDrive Groups.
COST
The 2-day HPDE is $485 for NCM members
and $525 for Non-members (includes a 1-year discounted membership). The
Touring lap option is available for $120 on September 26 and 28, and $25
for a touring guest. Prime Drive is offered September 27 or 29 and is
$120. Registration closes Friday, August 22, 2014 at 5:00 pm CT.

Motorsports Park Paving Begins
 The
guard rail installation is well underway and paving officially began on
Tuesday with the first layer of the full 3 miles being completed today.
The run-offs will be paved starting later today and tomorrow, and then a
high polymer modified liquid asphalt mix will top it beginning next
week. The complete process is expected to be finished by late June.

eBay Auction Benefitting the Museum
 Limited
Edition (1 of 792) 1:24 scale diecast of the #48 NASCAR, a replica of
the "raced version" of Jimmie Johnson's car from the Martinsville, VA
race on October 21, 2007. The car is autographed by both Jimmie Johnson
and NASCAR team owner Rick Hendrick.
