Looks like the weather has been working on the bricks a bit.  My last visit was back on '09 for the 15th anniversary of the NCM.

Where I've been in a Corvette...!!!

As Adam says, it was pretty warm during the NCM weekend!  But, it did cool down a bit and on the Sunday after the "event proper" it rained for an hour or so!

We arrived back home here inn France yesterday, having spent time up in Columbus OH visiting friends.

We last visited the NCM in 2003, so a LOT of changes - not least the sink hole.  So it was interesting to see the new stuff and get a look at the "sink hole cars" etc.  The team at the NCM have done wonders with the museum, with some great exhibits and new features.  

We were glad to meet Adam and a few of the other members, and special thanks to Adam for sorting out a shirt for me!  We even managed to get into the group photo!    We managed to drive a C8 on the track and June got a hot lap in a C8 Z06 with one of the Motorsport Park's drivers, which she loved.   As we know both Olly Gavin and Richard Prince well we were pleased to be able to attend the Hall of Fame induction ceremony and they and Tadge all gave great speeches.  (now available on the NCM YouTube page by the way)    There were some great looking cars around the museum, but we were surprised by how many C8s there were and how few C3s - we saw three in fact!   

All in all it, for us it was an extremely enjoyable event and well worth the effort of getting there and back!    We have a mass of photos to go through now (sadly I didn't get the helpful chap who took the group photo to do one on our camera!)  and if I see anything that I think youll be interested in, I'll post them up.

We have a couple of days to recover before leaving for a few days away in the Corvette, at the Circuit des Remparts event in Angouleme, down in the Charente.  Alas, it's not quite as warm here as it was in Bowling Green, so I hope it at least stays dry!

This is a great summary. Thanks for posting it. It was great to meet you guys. I was at the induction ceremony too. It was a cool event. Listening to Tadge was great!

Temp was the same as N. Texas, so no biggie to me.  We left Friday, went back to Cape Girardeau for  a couple of days and then back through Eureka Springs for a couple of days.  Had had enough of the crowds.  Did the factory tour on Wednesday afternoon and that let us ditch the cluster that was the Caravan and head in by ourselves in order to make the ticket tour time.

Also went to the aviation museum there in Bolling Green and chatted with the guy that planned and led the 15 plane F-111 raid on Libya in 1986.  580 knots at 100 feet!

Some of our group did a cave tour on Thursday.

Thanks for the updates!  Next time traveling thru BG a stop at the NCM is a definete.

Where I've been in a Corvette...!!!

A couple of things I didn't mention:

One was that we visited Mammoth Caves after the NCM weekend - the longest cave system in the world with over 420 miles of mapped caves.  We walked about 5 of those!  No spectacular stalagmites or stalactites, but the sheer size is amazing.  Well worth a visit, and with above ground trails you can make a day of it.

The second was a purely chance finding of the Swope 's Cars of Yesteryear Museum, in Elzabethtown, KY.  about 70 miles north of BG.   As a lover of cars from the 30's and 40's, I loved it!   Everything spotless, the cars "on the button" and a couple of guides/custodians who had masses of interesting information.  And, completely free!    The webnsite is here: https://www.swopemuseum.com/
