Banister Racing......Typically a young persons sport....and for good reason......

The dismount is important.....if not done right......

If your going to hold Banister events, make sure you have plenty of medical staff.

Seriously, I want to thank everyone for the help and support.

Event log :  Marilyn got wound up anticipating the upcoming social gathering.
She broke your leg falling off the stair banister
C3VR medical staff came to the rescue
20 mile ride in the ambulance
A bunch of drugs and a hard pull, and the foot was back in place

We go Monday to the Surgeon.. Will let you know more later

Tom, I'm so glad you got a picture.  While I was standing there observing the C3VR medical staff at work, I considered getting the camera and thought it might be in poor taste (later I was greatly disapointed I hadn't).

By the way, I'll also need copies of the X-rays for the photo collection I'll be putting together!  Smile

Marilyn,
Glad your home,  Let us know how it goes with the surgery.  Most importantly, make sure the good drugs have REFILLS.

and they thought the ZIP line was going to be dangerous ... add in the rear soaking on the Quack boats (me & Tux) and we had an eventful weekend.

Status update.

Surgery is scheduled for Thursday.  Doctor says that he has to plate the outside bone, pin the inside  bone, and then screw the two together.  This will require that he removes the connecting screws in about 8 weeks.

I broke my ankle years ago and they put a rod on one side and a big ole Satinless wood screw on the other side.......I never let them back in.....still got that hardware today!

The fact that the bones are healing together every day....means they break it again, but she will be under when they do it. Hurts like heck!

Wish her a quick recovery...I feel for her in my ankle as I post this.....good luck.

Thanks for posting the pictures.  They will go in the collection!

Candi and I are glad to hear she's home.  Candi just showed me on the x-ray how and why the fibula broke.  Like I needed that.

Ouch, man when I look at that my ankle shiversLOL Tom if Marilyn is like most women with shoes she may be buyin twice as many now...... My broken ankle has never gone back down to its original size, its always stayed swelled just a bit bigger. She may have to go up a 1/2 or full size on that foot.
We will have to compare scares at the next gatheringLOL
Glad it went well she'll be ready to rumble before you know it. Did they give her a walking cast?
