This is really a nasty issue.  I received an email from Paypall.com telling me my account was changed to limited access because of some security issue.  It provided a case number and a ticket number.  It went on to assure me they were working to restore full service and they need me to confirm some information. They said a link was provided for my convenience.

I clicked the link and a few things became evident. (Irealize you should never click links you should manually enter them).  I also realize few people ever do that.

The big red flag came up when it asked me to confirm my SSN.  I looked at the address and noted it was not https:// it was http:// Then I called PayPal.  They said they never send emails with links.  I looked real hard at the address and noted that it is Paypall.com and not Paypal.com.

No harm done except I get to change my debt card number and Password.  I hate being stupid and letting them get as far as they did.   I'm just glad I stopped before having my Bank account emptied.

Yah... ya gotta watch that stuff real close. ANYTIME you get a notice from Paypal(or any other financial interest)that says they changed ANYTHING regarding your account log-in, passwords, etc....it's usually a scam. I used to get those emails all the time.....so much so that I had the "spoof@paypalDOTcom" email in my address book! NEVER click on links from something you think is fishy, or something wanting you to change something.
For a while, I was getting notices from facebook that someone else was using my log-in from another computer, and facebook wanted me to PROVE I was who I was. Trouble was...it was ME trying to log in from another computer, and I couldn't log in at all. I finally had to log in from home and get it sorted out, but I didn't try to fix it from work, because I THOUGHT it might have been a scam.
Watch out for scammers.....they're EVERYWHERE! Angry
Thumbs Up

I've been getting the same type every other day.  Mine say they are making my account temporarily unavailable and to "log in here".  I sent the emails to paypal but got no reply.

I've received the same email a number of times over the years.

Anything genuine from Paypal will also start with your name rather than "Paypal customer" or no salutation at all.
