Looking for new in box K&N air filters for a 1982 crossfire motor. Also looking for stock or nos replacement filters for the same motor.
I don't think K&N makes one. Rock Auto has standard replacement air filters including Wix.
Thanks Gary, I’m having trouble finding them and have actually been making my own by cutting down an STP filter and taping it back together. I’ll try Rock Auto.
Yeah, those are the ones I was talking about. Did the 84 Corvette use the same filters? I think there was a Crossfire Camaro too.
RockAuto lists a 4 cyl (151ci/2.5L), a 6 cyl (173ci/2.8L) and an 8 cyl (305ci/5.0L) for 3rd gen Camaros. According to this 3rd Gen Camaro info the 350ci/5.7L Crossfire was an available option in '82 & '83 and discontinued after that. The 350ci/5.7L TPI L98 reappeared in 1987.
I ordered a set of Wix filters, will see if they fit when they arrive. I’ve been told filters fit before and they don’t. Why I cut the STP filters down and tape them back together. They are a little too tall also. GM made crossfire engines for 3 years 82’, 83’, and 84’. The vettes had 350’s and the trans ams and camaros had 305’s. They were brand new technology and very misunderstood by mechanics. A well tuned crossfire with a ported intake manifold and real dual exhaust will make more horsepower than any previous vette back to about 1973.
