thanks, never thought of checking at that side, wasnt familiar with access on that side thanks for that . Ill check that out tomorrow am, regards, brian
mine is a mess under there. i think the previous owner has disconnected items one at a time when the components have stopped working, so im just finding problems one at a time, as i said in the first part i started by renewing the turn signal switch in the tilt tele steering column. i was just about to rebuild the internal door panels to the doors. strted to drop the windows for access in fitting some parts . then no movement on the windows. so ive been on the past day trying to find what the problem is. thanks regards. brian
ive just removed the 35 amp fuse and checked both terminals it clips into, theres no power/volts on either, so im getting no supply to that position on the board. am i missing something here, is the a fuse on the supply side between the ignition switch and the fuse on the board ? thanks Brian,
note thats with the engine running,
There should be power to one side of the fuse when the engine is running or the key is in the Run position I believe. You're just going to have to back trace it and see where it's losing the 12 volts.

thanks, im going to check through the board this morning and see exactly where i have lost power. i think ive lost power on some supplies that need the ignition on. but Ill check through the board one feed at a time. nightmare!. Im not familiar with this supply side at the moment and where the inline fuses are located on that side from the battery.
what i have good at the moment is the starting side, headlights etc ok recent known problems are the power windows, wipers, doubtful are the aircon, the heater fan, like i say ill just have to check one at a time. what i cant undertstand is how this has happened, i disconnected battery when working on the steering column to fit the turn signal switch. All went well and all indicators and hazards worked when checked.everything apart from the horn worked. the horn is a long time know problem which i was going to trace and correct later. Thanks for your assistance, ill update on progress, best regards, brian
just looking through the circuit diagrams , looks like i may have lost the orange cable feed from the ignition switch to the fuse board. Ill check that out today, when i get a chance,
I would look at any wiring that was close to the area that you were working on for the other switch. It sounds like that orange wire that you mentioned could be a likely suspect.

hi thanks , yes i think its the orange cable from the ignition switch on the tilt tele column, either the wire feeding that from the fuse link B or the orange wire to the fuseboard, anyway around that area. because its the power on feed thats suspect.
ive got a few other tasks today( family) so ill try to get on to it friday and this weekend, ill update when i find the fault. thanks again for your support. greatly appreciated.
PROBLEM SOLVED.
#thanks found the problem this morning. the last connector with the red supply orange return to the board and i think a tan and white brake warning light wire. was disconnected from the connection at the ignition switch. I must have done this when taking the cables through the column for the new turn signal switch.
thanks again for your help greatly appreciated. what a result.
good advise is to go back to where you have previously been working. and check everything out, its a good starting point at least.
thanks for all members help.
Good work. Thanks for the feedback.
