Some people looking for the build sheet on their 1975 Corvette said they did not find a "tank build sheet" when removing the fuel tank for the first time. I found my build sheet on my '75 but it was glued to the fuel tank steel shield that fits above the fuel tank. When the safety requirement and internal bladder were added to the fuel tank, the shield was installed to the chassis first and the tank was installed below the shield. This is logical since the tank is no longer visible during assembly.
I am introducing myself and my '75 Corvette.
I purchased my first Corvette in 1977 while in the Air Force. It was a 1975 Orange Flame coupe with almost every option except the L82 engine. Although I sold that car many years ago, I have owned five additional C3s. I found my current '75 Orange Flame coupe with the same options as the first one in 2014 and purchased it.
My C3 came with the TH400; air conditioning; power steering, brakes, and windows; custom leather interior; tilt-telescopic steering column; rear window defroster; AM-FM stereo radio; map light; and a few other options.
I installed an LS-6 454 in my first '75; however, I have taken a different route with this one.
I built a World Products 407 ci engine with AFR CNC ported heads, Erson mechanical roller camshaft; forged crankshaft, H-beam 6 1/8" long connecting rods, JE forged pistons, 1.6 ratio roller rocker arms; Edelbrock aluminum water pump, Canton road race oil pan, FlowTech headers, and a few other supporting parts. I am in the process of installing an Edelbrock Pro Flo 4 sequential multi-port fuel injection.
I have changed the TH400 for a Tremec TKX 5-speed manual transmission with the Silver Sport shifter modification that places the shift linkage in the correct location. I have also installed a Borgeson power steering system and upgraded the rear suspension.
I know I have spent too much, but this is my favorite Corvette and I want it to be a fast car that I can take on long cruises. It is a keeper!
Hi and Welcome
That sounds like a pretty special car and, it definitely looks pretty special - that colour is fab and I love that wheel and tyre combo on any C3 really. 👍
Thanks for introducing yourself. We're glad you found us!
