Everyone is asking about clearance and its a simple thing to check. Most of manifold manufacturers give a front and rear height measurement.
To determine the height of your stock intake unbolt the carb and place a flat straight edge across the carb mounting surface that will extend to the front of the engine block to the rear of the engine block. Then mearsure from the bottom of the intake/top of the intake valley of the block up to the straight edge. Do this on the front and rear to get your measurements and then take those and search for an intake of the same height.
If your wondering how much you can give and take to the hood height. Go purchase some soft molding clay and place two inch round ball of clay on the front of your air cleaner and another on the rear and shut the hood. Pop the hood and measure the thinkness of the squashed clay. You may need to use more or less clay depending on what you think is needed to meet the hood.
I've measured mine and its very low and it matched the exaxt front and rear heights of the weiand 7547 intake. This intake is a very low dual plane intake. Measures 3.09" on the front and 4.06" on the rear. Since its such a low single plane it shouldn't hurt perforance down low too bad. If you can find it, because its now obsolete. Weiand 7525 intake is a single plane intake also fits under the corvette hood upto 1982. It measures 3.50" front, and 4.50" in the rear. Use the 7460 or 7461 Plenum divder with intake to get better low rpm vacuum. It also has an EGR provision.
Hope this info helps.
