I'm finally getting to redo my center console of my '81 and replace all the damaged parts from the previous owner. There is this short pigtail coming off the gauge cluster harness. Its a straight connector with a green/white, black and pink wire. I don't see any obvious open connector that matches this. It's not even shown in the assembly manual. I have color coded wiring diagrams and can't seem to locate it there either. A few people have told me it's for the wiper motor but the wipers are working fine when the power is on. I appreciate the help

I checked my 82 shop manual and the only connector coming off the instrument panel harness is the 3 wire connector for the the Radio.  Plugs into the top port on the back of radio, connector C126.  One of the  wires connects to the "Power Antenna Relay".

My service manual says the same thing. Depending on what radio system you have(clock/no clock), you may not have a connector on the radio for that connector.

Thanks Guys!! You confirmed it for me. I had a feeling it wasn't needed because it was so short. There was an aftermarket radio installed and it was open when I dis-assembled the console. Now it's on to the shift console.

Again, the feedback was much appreciated. Thank you!
