I'll be interested to see the comments.  That's the next major project for my car

Rook, my red vette had the brake booster painted black and it flaking off looks like crap. I like that calyx and after watchin Frank use it on Barb's car I bought some from Eastwood. Eastwood makes a kit that will make your booster look like new cad. It's a three color spray kit check it out.

Now here's a Hot little secret.....do you own one of those small steam cleaners ?

I saw a video of a underhood being detailed with one of these units, man it just steamed all the oil dirt grease and gunk away. No scrubbing at all. We have one here and I'm going to start using it under the hood. One of the cleanest under hood cars here is Chips (crossfire82) I'm sure he can throw out some ideas.

We use the "Cad" spray kit at work to touch up zinc yellow parts - stuff is incredible - can't even tell (we just use two of three sprays for zinc yellow(gold & green))  Watch their video - pretty amazing what a light touch will do with the green & red clears on top of the gold opaque.

Great idea on the steam cleaner Al - I'll have to try that

I've thought about the steam cleaners, but never seen one that seemed to put out enough steam to do anything.  Any brand ideas?

Marshal, go back up to my last post and click on the red X That is the one I have and it works pretty well. Not to large to lug around.

Did you read the review CON that does not recommend it for car engines?
Just one persons opinion. Without actually testing it.

There is not that much of any area of the engine to really get at but all the other area's under the hood impossible for my little hands to get at it's great. Even under around the frame and suspision its so much easier than sprayin degreaser in me eyes.

So I was looking at the cad product from Eastwood. Looks amazing. Do you think it can be or has anyone done this process while the booster was still on the car???? The Rook2011-07-02 07:22:19
