Hi, discovered on my 69 that the wing nut and bolt on carburetor had worked it way up and i have happened to closr the hood on top of if. This unfortunately made a nice 3 x 3 inch spider cracks. its not that bad , you have to get close up to see it, but i know its there. its black imron paint. Can this be repaired without doing the whole hood. Thank, Dan
Unfortunate for that to happen. Don't know how many folks here are body folk or painters but I would imagine that if you took it to any reputable body shop in your area they would be able to give you an idea. The biggest issue I see will be matching the paint color.
Tanks Jim. Did take it to a few places over the weekend. The cost at one place , ballpark was 5to 600.00 which is just repair the little spot and blend thr new paint with old, then clear coat it. Other quote was 6 to 700.00 same procedure. Lat place wanted 1400.00 and they would strip and paint the whole hood. Car goes into garage for winter , fix it in sring. Dan
