several weeks ago I replaced all the window rollers and sliders.  Also removed all the tracks and cleaned/re-greased and installed new inner/outer door felts.  After reinstalling the glass, and adjusting the glass I have WAY TO MUCH OutBoard/InBoard movement, so much so that it is impossible to adjust the alignment.  When I close the window and tighten all the bolts, then open the door, the glass then flops InBoard (see pics).  I am not sure if I re-installed incorrectly or the window regulator rollers are worn.  I did not have this problem before I started this repair so more inclined to think I have re-installed incorrectly but I just cant see the problem.  I am using the 1982 Service manual to removing replacing parts and following the adjustment instructions on pages 2D-11 and 2D-14 of the "Body" section.  Also looked at the Tech instructions at Corvette Central for door glass service....but still missing the trees for the forest.  I have the same problem with both windows.

Ideas????

One of, if not THE biggest pita jobs on these cars is window glass adjustments. Even if you mark every friggin screw/bolt before loosening, you can never get it back to your original starting point. I've spent HOURS trying to get the glass adjusted, and just gave up when it got "close enough". Wish I had a magic solution, but other than following the service manual procedure, I have no tips....😟

I finally got back to adjusting these windows.  I have replaced the Window "Glass Channel Roller and Slider" and the Glass Washers/Bushings/Bumpers/Rollers.  Also rebuilt the motor.

Problem is after aligning and tightening all bolts, I still have too much play in the glass - side to side and up/down.  The regulator center joint seems loose and is the pivot point when I lift one edge of the window.  When we lift "Up/Down" I can see the regulator "X" arms have a lot of play.  How much "Play" should there be at this regulator center joint???.  There needs to be some play at this joint otherwise the window would not go up/down.  the "Left/Right" play seems to be along the upper horizontal channel that the "Glass channel roller/slider" fit into.  Everything else seems tight.

Suggestions?  what am I missing?

I also have a short video I can PM anyone (could not see how to post video).

Did you put the door panel back on?  The upper strip on the panel is necessary to prevent this, so if the door panel is off this will happen even if you have everything right.  You may end of removing the panel a few times getting the adjustments right.

No, never did try re-installing the door panel to see if that solved the problem.

After many more frustrating hours, I drilled out the window regulator so I could inspect it.  The center scissor joint had massive play - both left/right along the axis and in/out, way more than should be normal.  I ordered two new regulators and hopefully that solves the problem (with re-installing door panels 😀).

Thanks
