Looks like there is a decent amount of interest in having another member Gathering.
According to our Member Gathering Map and rotation schedule, our next Gathering needs to be in the East region.,
Looking at our Real-Time Member Map, it is clear that the East region has the most members, really heavily concentrated in the NE and SE. So we should probably look to pick a location in one of those areas.
Please reply to this thread to suggest an East Region location for our next Gathering.
Keep these things in mind when making your suggestion:
After maybe 2-4 weeks I'll put together a poll based on the suggestions and we'll all vote.
Here is a closer look at the East region member population density:

Hi Adam,
I think the Nashville area would be nice as it's probably not too far from many that live in the Eastern regions and it's close to Bowling Green where the Corvette Museum is. That would also help those that live in the West. I'm in Texas and that would be a nice drive now that I added A/C to my 69 convertible. Just a suggestion of course.
Hope this helps. Thanks for all you do Adam!
John
Looks like Maine, North Carolina, Georgia, Virginia are possibilities. What about one of our supporters on the site or vendors for parts? Would they be willing to set up a program simular to what Mike did at MAM?
My suggestion is Asheville, NC. I have never been to the Biltmore Estate and would love to tour it. Maybe even stay there. The Great Smoky Mountains are nearby. There is a pinball museum. Might be able to take a drive on the Dragon or one of the other curvy roads.
No, I don’t live in the area. That’s why I want to go there.
Anywhere that would allow us to drive the Smoky Mountain Blue Ridge Parkway would be great. One of the car magazines R&T or MT had a write up on it saying it was one of the better drives. We are coming from Texas so if everyone decide elsewhere we will add this route on our drive home :). We are not familiar with this part of the country so happy to see any/all of it.

Selfishly, I like the Asheville suggestion. It's nearby, and I've never driven the Blue Ridge Parkway in the Corvette :-).
However, looking at the member location heat map vs. the locations that have been hosts it seems like the Jacksonville FL area is pretty populated but has never been chosen as a gathering location. I95 is an easy route for members up in the Northeast, too.
Just my $.02.
Virginia, West Virginia, North Carolina.
Virginia, West Virginia, North Carolina.
That's some fairly broad suggestions. Can you narrow it down to specific cities?

Hmmmm
Off the top of my head. For Virginia somewhere close to the Blue Ridge Parkway/Skyline Dr. Charlottesville, Lynchburg or Roanoke.
For West Virginia possibly somewhere around Beckley.
For North Carolina maybe Asheville.
Ashville NC has lots to see and do. Biltmore Estate being the most well known but it also has 2 different car museums, shopping for the ladies, great food and much more I'm sure. We have driven through it many times but never stopped to explore. Beautiful part of the country.

Adam, I know that you have a booth at Corvettes of Carlisle and you usually have some activities plan for the Registry members. So, Corvettes of Carlisle might be a good location. I do like the suggestion of having a Member gathering in Asheville, NC. These are just my thoughts. Thank you for all you do for the C3 Registry.
Adam: I'm with Dave Wright, Ashville, N.C. is a beautiful city. Many attractions in the area. I've been there many times. It would be an excellent choice.
We like North Carolina. Virginia second.
Nashville or Atlanta Georgia area.
North Georgia has some beautiful mountain roads and views. It would be really cool to go to Bowling Green too!
I live on the west coast and as much as I would love to attend, I'm just not able to do so this year. Going to the east coast would be fun and if I was able to attend the location for me is not what's stopping me at this time.
I like Bruce's suggestions. Later Sept timeframe, Va Beach, Myrtle Beach.
While Carlisle sounds convenient, as I get older, I dislike the crowds, and August temps are rather hot. Plus try and find hotel and parking if you weren't really already planning to attend the fairgrounds event a year in advance.
I'm in the Atlanta GA area. I expect most Vettes are northside. I am southside. I used to navigate through Atlanta but no more. I agree that northside Atlanta is a very nice place for a get together, whether I can attend or not.
We like North Carolina. Virginia second.

where in NC? Where in VA?
Hi,
Pigeon forge, Smokey Mountains Tenessee.
I am sorry, I cannot be of any assistance. A very good friend of my resently moved to this location and told me about the (lots of) car meets.
And I am living in the Netherland!
So was my friend!
regards,
Eric
I'm in favor of New England area. Although it seems like I'm in the minority. Almost anywhere up there is beautiful and scenic particularly the Maine area. You don't have to worry about the temps anytime over the entire summer. the Acadia National Park area is really scenic. Anywhere along the coastline is great.

I vote for Nashville. A tour of the museum and factory would be very possible. SpeedVette in Pulaski would be close and it's a beautiful drive there from the metro area. Stan McNabb Chevrolet (and many others in the area) sponsors several Vette activities. As well, PowerNation is in Franklin and could provide coverage of the event -- and result in great PR for the group.
Just thinking out loud 🤔 Of course, being 1 1/2 hours away has no bearing on my vote whatsoever😉

I was going to suggest going to the NCM during the Bash but it looks like you've already been there a couple of times. Another possibility would be somewhere in Florida close to Cape Canaveral and the space center. Maybe the timing could be about when a launch is to take place.
Boston would be nice because there is a lot of historic places to visit there and you can also get great seafood there.
If there's any Navy interest then you could go to Norfolk where the battleship Wisconsin is moored and there are tours available.

I agree with the Corvettes at Carlisle suggestion, although there may be something of interest in the Bowling Green, KY area.
The only problem with Carlisle is that it is usually infested with about 80% C7 and C8 cars there.
I’d prefer a cooler season due to the performance of my C3’s a/c. I’m suggesting Sep/Oct in the Poconos or Finger Lakes region.
Great place in the North East would be Moroso’s in Gilford CT.
Corvette Museum, Bowling Green, KY
Suggest Wilmington or New Bern, NC. Both are very friendly, have excellent facilities if needed, multiple locations to stay/ dine (very reasonable), lots to see and due, weather is perfect. Also, coastal area has a plethora of areas to enjoy should one desire to venture out.
Ashville piques my interest.
I like the blue ridge mountain area my self.
Its close enough for me to make it and the area has wonderful fun roads for cruizin!
Luray is a good location to base the event
Bobmo
I agree with da beeman, Willmington or New Bern, NC in late September.
my vote goes for Pocono mountains in Pennsylvania, near Long Pond (Pocono Raceway), possible cross link with teh following clubs:

Newbie poster on the forum but I'd like to see something in the New England area. New Hampshire (Mount Washington, Franconia Notch, The Flume Gorge) or Maine (Arcadia, Camden, etc...). Possibly even the Cape Cod area (Plymouth Plantation, Plymouth Rock, Mayflower, National Seashore, etc...). However, I'd recommend that these occur after Labor Day to avoid the tourist traffic. Something in mid-October might include also foliage season in NH/ME.
Health issue most likely will keep me from attending. Living in San Diego however I may have a couple of more cross-country trips in me. It depends. I plan on going to Dearborn to the Ford Museums up through Texas. One area I found really interesting when in my travels and that was Graceland but not many members in that area.
Ashville NC If it were in the Spring or Fall. The Biltmore Estate, and it is well worth the stop. It is handicap assessable and the flowers are great. The Este-Winn Memorial Automobile Museum https://www.grovewood.com/antique-car-museum/ is 11 miles to the north it is free admission and is on my bucket list also.
Also New England area has lots of options also Boston, Mystic Seaport etc.
I agree with dwright. Asheville area has many attractions, restaurants, and scenery that all will enjoy along with the gathering.
Good Morning to all who check in. I.M.H.O. it seems that the East is the most coveted area to visit. In addition to the most active participants. I feel if we continue with the Gatherings and keep them close to the attending members, the success of our team will increase. Hope to see you all wave as we travel.
Anywhere that is within 100 miles of western Ma.
How about the Adirondack mountains (Lake Placid, NY) or Lake George , NY. I think there’s an event there called VetteFest. Just throwing some ideas out there! I go to Carlisle every year so not much appeal there for me and it would be hard to get accommodations for all!
Mario
I like either Cape Cod, Ma or combining it with Carisle, Pa. event.
If I am able to make that trip (depending on the time frame), I would vote for Ashville, NC.
It is about 1,750 miles one way from Rock Springs, WY.
Either July 15-16, or July 22-23, during either of the Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix race weekends. July 15-16 is at the Pittsburgh International Race Complex - www.pittrace.com Members could challenge each other on the Karting Track between the vintage races. July 22-23 is in Schenley Park, where over 3000 cars are in a show on the golf course, while vintage racing is held on the streets in Schenley Park. This is the 41st year of the PVGP, an all volunteer 10 day event benefiting 2 local charities. https://pvgp.org/.
Both locations has plenty of space for parking.
