Following is the current agenda for the 2018 Gathering (Wednesday, July 25 -
Sunday, July 29, 2018.
We
have reserved a block of rooms at the Staybridge Suites
Staybridge Suites Cincinnati North
8955 Lakota Drive West, West Chester, Ohio 45069
Main Desk - 513-874-1900 Fax - 513-874-7192
https://www.ihg.com/staybridge/hotels/us/en/west-chester/cvgnw/hoteldetail
The
Group Code is CVR and is bookable online. The reserved rooms are (i)
studio queen, $149.99; (ii) one bedroom king, $189.99; and (iii) two doubles,
$189.99. All suites have a full kitchen with refrigerator, icemaker, microwave,
stovetop and dishwasher.
If
anyone wants a handicap accessible one bedroom queen or a two bedroom/two bath
suite, rates are set-up in the reserved block, but with no inventory. Call the
hotel directly to book the accessible or 2 bedroom suites.
We
recommend that if you think you may attend this year’s gathering, please
book your room early. There is a Jazz Festival in Cincinnati over the
course of 6 weekends, and arranging for hotel accommodations was a bit more
difficult than we had anticipated. You can cancel without penalty with
>72 hour notice. It will also help in arranging tours and meals if we
have a reasonable estimate of how many will join us.
The
hotel has a full hot breakfast buffet in the lobby.
Below
are the tentative plans which we will update you on as more information becomes
available:
Wednesday evening 7/25
Meet and greet at the hotel; grilled hamburgers and hot dogs dinner including salad bar, soda and tea provided by the hotel to registered guests; beer and wine available for
$.50/glass. Hotel serves from 5:30 to 7:30 pm. We will target 6:00 pm to eat as a group.
Thursday 7/26
Thursday morning breakfast buffet at the hotel.
Jungle Jim's - tour of eclectic international food and beverage emporium. It's more than a grocery store, it is a destination. Cost $5 per person. Mark and Jan will cover in advance.
Devou Park in Northern Kentucky for a photo op of our cars with the Downtown Cincinnati Skyline in the background.
Lunch at Pompilios. https://pompilios.com
Unstructured time: Options include Newport on the Levee, Newport Aquarium, The Party Source. The Party Source is the largest independent and employee-owned liquor store in the country. http://thepartysource.com/

Friday 7/27
Friday morning breakfast buffet at the hotel.
Dinner
at Rivertown Brewery & Barrel House in Monroe, Ohio. http://rivertownbrewery.com/monroe/. Weather
permitting, we will be outside on the patio. The patio is reserved for
just our group. Due to the size of the group, dinner will be ordered from
their family style menu. Alcoholic beverages will be available separately.
Saturday 7/28
Saturday morning breakfast buffet at the hotel.
National Museum of the U.S. Air Force (Wright Patterson Air Force Base)
http://www.nationalmuseum.af.mil/
Entry to the
museum is Free. There is a great deal to see there, so we anticipate
people will want to spend several hours there. There are places to have
lunch at the museum.
If anyone doesn’t want to spend the entire afternoon at the museum, there are Miami Valley Gaming and the Cincinnati Premium Outlets just off the highway, on the way back toward our hotel.
https://www.miamivalleygaming.com/, http://www.premiumoutlets.com/outlet/cincinnati.
We will organize a mid-afternoon outing to an indoor shooting range for anyone that may be interested.
Dinner at Kreimer’s Bier Haus http://www.bierhauswest.net/. We should have a private room and patio.
Sunday 7/29
Bring walkie-talkies if you have them.
